Borrelia burgdorferi Bacterin Broad protection: Lyme vaccine with isolates from two seroprotective groups (S-1-10 and C-1-11). Covers all outer surface proteins (Osp) for development of protective immunity. Developed from whole-cell B. burgdorferi. Proven one year duration of immunity in a challenge study. Natural Tick Challenge. Indications: This bacterin is for the vaccination of healthy dogs against disease caused by Borrelia burgdorferi. Dosage and Administration Shake well. Using aseptic technique, inject 1 mL (1 dose) intramuscularly into healthy dogs at 7 weeks of age or older. Revaccinate with 1 mL 2-4 weeks after initial vaccination. Two doses are required for primary immunization. Annual revaccination with one dose is recommended. Precautions Do not freeze. Use new, non-chemically sterilized, needles and syringes. Do not mix with other vaccines. Warnings The use of a biological product may produce anaphylaxis and/or other inflammatory immune-mediated hypersensitivity reactions. Antidote: Epinephrine, corticosteroids, and antihistamines may all be indicated depending on the nature and severity of the reaction. Contains gentamicin and nystatin as preservatives.
