Bacterin-Vaccine

Canine Distemper-Adenovirus Type 2-Parainfluenza-Parvovirus Vaccine, Modified Live Virus, Leptospira Bacterin

Contents: Progard-7 is a modified live virus vaccine containing attenuated strains of canine distemper virus, adenovirus type 2, parainfluenza virus and parvovirus grown in the Pro-Cell Stable Cell Line. Progard-7 is presented in a desiccated form with an inactivated Leptospira canicola and Leptospira icterohaemorrhagiae bacterin as the diluent. The attenuated distemper virus strain used in Progard-7 is the Onderstepoort strain. The parvovirus component is patented* CPV Strain 154 which is an attenuated parvovirus strain of canine origin. The unique InterTek production process has made it possible to produce Progard-7 with high titered CPV and CDV components which are highly immunogenic.
The Manhattan strain of adenovirus type 2 in Progard-7 confers protection against canine infectious hepatitis caused by CAV-1 as well as infectious tracheobronchitis caused by CAV-2. Use of the Manhattan strain of CAV-2 provides dual protection without the adverse reactions associated with CAV-1, such as corneal edema ("blue eye").
Contains gentamicin as a preservative.
Indications: Progard-7 is for vaccination of healthy dogs against canine distemper virus infection, canine infectious hepatitis caused by CAV-1, canine respiratory infection caused by CAV-2, canine parainfluenza virus infection, canine parvovirus infection and leptospirosis caused by L. canicola and L. icterohaemorrhagiae.
Dosage and Administration: Aseptically reconstitute the desiccated vaccine vial with the Leptospira spp bacterin provided and administer 1 mL by subcutaneous or intramuscular route. Dogs over 12 weeks of age should receive 2 doses 3-4 weeks apart. Annual revaccination with a single dose is recommended.
